You do not need to book a block of sessions. You choose when and how often we meet.
In-person and remote options
We usually meet in mutually convenient green spaces in and around Bath and Bradford on Avon. If you have a favourite spot, I’ll meet you there.
Prefer a home visit? I can do that too.
Video or telephone appointments are also possible.
Country Gate is a professional, accredited, counselling and coaching service, blending the mood-boosting benefits of time spent in nature with the hopefulness and future focus of Solution-focused Brief Therapy.
It began as a seed nearly twenty years ago with the aim of supporting teenagers and parents who felt overwhelmed, disconnected or lonely. In my spare time I designed activities and developed resources to get families outside, connecting with others and with nature. I also coached anxious teenagers who were struggling with their studies, with their relationships, with life in general.
Over time, my professional life as a teacher and work as a volunteer counsellor with Samaritans and Cruse Bereavement Support merged with this and evolved into the service it is today. I work with clients of all ages who are navigating grief, loss of any kind and bereavement.
Hello. I’m Cally Smart, the founder of Country Gate, solution-focused counsellor, teacher and trainer.
I am an accredited member of the International Alliance of Solution-Focused Teaching Institutes and adhere to their ethical framework. Fully insured and with a valid DBS and up-to-date safeguarding training, you are in safe, professional hands.
